About the Curatorial Team:
antone is a restless and faithful artist currently residing in The City of Angels. Through his art he seeks to disarm and encourage people to open doors for one another, chance as much heartbreak as possible, and become more vulnerable. He tells his stories through film making, writing, photo taking, illustrating, dancing, acting, performance art and flower picking.
Lauren West is a costume designer and collage artist working out of Los Angeles, California. Lauren sources editorials from mid-century to late 1970's publications including Life and Playboy magazine to extract and reassemble images focusing on themes of feminism, sexuality, and vulnerability. With Failed Films she hopes to nurture and embolden emerging artists to be as shamelessly raw and uninhibited as possible, while creating a physical space for their work to come to life.
Janesta "Aka Nikki" is a multidisciplinary artist invoking several mediums in their work including dance, film, collage, art and poetry. They are a former Sex Worker, educator and Self Identified as a qender fluid queer black femme or "Alien". Janesta seeks to center black stories, voices and bodies in their work outside of the gaze of colonialism and patriarchy. Through their work they push to inspire transformation and healing of POC and black bodies through storytelling, poetry and envisioning a world where black femme individuals can exist in their own skin. Janesta currently resides in Oakland, CA and loves to cook for their chosen family.
Chingy L AKA The Gay Chingy is a screenwriter, comedienne, journalist, and bottom based out of Los Angeles and Oakland, CA. Chingy’s work focuses on subjects of queer culture, female sexual expression, BDSM education, and documentation of her personal relationship with fetish. She has been featured at Out Magazine, VICE, Them, Autostraddle, and Slate. Voted “America’s Favorite Ex-Girlfriend” and “2019’s Most Sex-Positive Gay Heckler”, Chingy recently co-founded Mommy Issues, LA’s thirstiest queer dance party, and can be found sharing intersectionally horny humor & stories as part of #SORORITYseries, an LA-based queer performance cabaret. She is also a much better bottom than you.
